 Ideal Meal^® utilizes a proprietary filtration and drying method that involves a minimal amount of processing. The result is a microbial safe product that exceeds all standards and makes it the optimum nutrition whey powder. We DO NOT use ordinary microfiltration, hydrolysis, or Ion exchange filtration whey because these methods denature (damage) the original protein components. They are perfectly fine as a source of protein but not a whole food source. Studies evaluating plasma effects of bovine serum albumin (BSA) protein compared to ordinary whey protein showed that BSA has a similar absorption rate to whey. Peak leucine concentrations were nearly equal, but compared to whey, BSA resulted in a longer period of sustained elevated leucine, with this BCAA being a key regulator of skeletal muscle protein synthesis via the mTOR pathway. An additional benefit of BSA over whey is that it is less insulinogenic while having a greater stimulatory effect on IGF-1, a potent signaling hormone for muscle tissue growth.

Hi-Tech’s Research and Development Team found this unique protein while studying burn patients and looking for proteins that were especially instrumental for facilitating weight maintenance in individuals with various atrophy of the intestinal mucosa due to chemotherapy, HIV, elevated and sustained cortisol levels or another condition or treatment that adversely affects the GI tract and leads to undesired weight loss. Pro-Rx^® is processed by a proprietary, “chilling technique” or low temperature, novel process that provides a full balance of undenatured bioactive proteins for nutritional advantages, along with functional benefits. The low temperature microfiltration process allows Pro-Rx^® to provide undenatured protein with a full balance of bioactive whey protein fractions, including immunoglobulin, lactoferrin and glycomacropeptides. Other whey processing technologies that utilize higher temperatures cause irreversible unfolding of the protein fractions that can drastically reduce the biological activity of the protein. Pro-Rx^® whey protein isolates also contain up to 12 times more native glycomacropeptides than ion-exchange whey protein isolates.
